2005 PPMA AWARDS OF EXCELLENCE

Welcome to the 2005 PPMA AWARDS, now celebrating 10 years of recognising excellence and innovation in engineering.
The winners for 2005 were announced and presented during the first day of the PPMA SHOW at the NEC Birmingham by PPMA President Mike Randal, PPMA Chief Executive Chris Buxton and Denis Taylor World Snooker Champion Past Master.

The five categories are:
DESIGN AND MANUFACTURE (Overseas Supplier)
The Denis Pearce Medal

Recognising innovative machinery designs or applications made outside the UK.

DESIGN AND MANUFACTURE (UK Supplier)
The Bob Newman Medal

Recognising innovative machine designs, or applications made in the UK.

CUSTOMER SERVICE
The John Downing Medal

To recognise a machinery supplier who has provided exceptional service and technical back up to a customer for a particular project or over a long period of continuous supply.

EXPORT ACHIEVEMENT BY A UK SUPPLIER
The Robert King Medal

Recognition of sales of machines to overseas markets through:
  • A long and consistent record of sales and service
  • Development of a new market
  • A project or contract of particular merit
  • Success by a company new to exporting
    Each entry will be judged on its merits. None of the above criteria carry more weight than others.
  • LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD OF EXCELLENCE - MACHINERY SUPPLIER (UK or Overseas)
    To recognise an individual who has pioneered a particular design, application or the manufacture of machinery, or someone who has made an outstanding contribution to the development of the industry over a considerable period as a supplier.



    PPMA AWARDS OF EXCELLENCE
    The Awards of Excellence is a competition launched by PPMA in 1995 with five categories for which Medals and Certificates of Merit are awarded annually.
    The aim is to recognise engineering and related excellence in the processing and packaging industry and to be a means of highlighting and publicising particular achievements, both personal and corporate.
