Engineering Courses From Spring 2021

The PPMA is committed to providing high quality, industry specific training; therefore, we are pleased to announce the launch of our new PPMA Academy.

The Academy has been designed to upskill and cross-train companies’ employees who work on the engineering factory floor.  Its purpose is to offer industry personnel the opportunity to broaden their skillset and key engineering competencies to be more adaptable within the workplace.

The PPMA Academy comprises three elements:

  • Classroom-based professional skills training
  • Classroom-based customer services skills training
  • Online training

Classroom-based professional skills training

Through the PPMA’s partnership with Make UK (The Manufacturers’ Organisation), the PPMA Academy will provide classroom style based courses at Make UK’s technology hub in Aston, Birmingham (dates TBA).

There will be 14 onsite practical modules available; the first of which will be in:

  • Fabrication & Welding
  • Computer Aided Design (CAD)

Other course modules offered will derive from the following subject headings:

  • Machining
  • Fabrication & Welding
  • Technical Support
  • Mechatronics Maintenance

Courses will typically be delivered in three- to five-day blocks.  Course fees start from as little as £92 for a one-day module in total productive maintenance and skills training, through to £1,375 for a comprehensive 10-day course in maintaining electrical equipment.
