Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations
The Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations (PUWER) is the main piece of legislation which affects the use of workplace equipment and machinery. Under the Health and Safety at Work Act, PUWER is applicable to virtually every workplace within the UK.
This course will assist those responsible for the purchase, use, maintenance or modification of work equipment to gain a thorough understanding of their responsibilities under this legislation. Guided risk assessments and workplace examples will illustrate how legislation is interpreted in practice. It will also explain how PUWER interfaces with other legislation like the CE Marking Directives. Delegates will receive practical advice on how to evaluate the safety of both new and existing machinery to comply with PUWER.
